From the Hall of Fame breeding program of the venerable Townshend Farm in Bolton, Massachusetts, one of the longest continuous running breeders in the country, we introduce this classically beautiful Morgan stallion, TOWNSHEND MARK THE DATE.

Athletic. Kind. Classic Morgan beauty. A high level of trainability. These are traits that have been hallmarks of this historic breeding program for nearly 100 years. This gorgeous stallion has a superb temperament and is a very eager and willing worker. Bold and inquisitive, he is well balanced in his conformation with a shapely, generous length of neck, giving him a natural ability to collect and impressive athletic impulsion while completely under control. Extremely sensible and fun to ride, he has elastic and comfortable gaits that are essential for today’s breeders.

Sired by Townshend Mark The Legacy, a son of the Park Harness World Champion Legacys Viking, a sire line that is rarely available today. Viking’s sire was the beautiful Chasley Superman son, Superb Creation, who was out of a Trophy daughter. His dam, Trophy’s Irish Lady, also by Trophy, brings a valuable Brunk bottom line to the mix. Mark The Legacy is out of Townshend Sweet Remark, an accomplished show ring champion sired by Townshend Check Mark, a 3/4 brother to the great producer Townshend Donachime—dam of Broodmare Hall of Fame Inductee, Schiaparelli. Sweet Remark’s dam, Bay State Rapture, was by the National Champion show horse and successful sire, Bay State Flintlock, by Upwey Ben Don.

On the bottom side, Mark The Date incorporates the size and elegance of the Masterpiece lines with more of the foundation lines provided by the great Townshend mares. His second dam, Townshend Doubledate, was by the athletic Merri-Lee Double Don, and out of Townshend Robrissa, a maternal sister to such legends as Townshend Vigilward (Ann Hutchinson Scussell’s grand park and equitation partner),  Townshend T-Rissa, a many time park saddle champion, and Pegasus Farm’s foundation stallion, Townshend Warcos (by Pecos).
